The food and beverage business requires more specialty coverage than any other business program. Your basic Property and Liability coverage is provided by a normal Businessowners or Commercial Package Policy. Many of our carriers then have special supplemental packages that they add to address risks unique to the restaurant/food service operation. Property coverage such as spoilage from off premises power failure is an example. Commercial Auto must provide Non-Owned Liability to protect you from liability arising from delivery people using their own vehicles. Your Workers Compensation must be supplemented with Employment Practices Liability to cover situations of sexual harassment or claims of improper firings. Liquor Liability is required by law for eateries serving alcohol. Boiler and Machinery policies protect your refrigeration equipment from mechanical breakdown and damage from electrical arcing. Commercial Umbrella policies can be purchased in units of $1M to increase your liability protection. |
